Hi Bakers!
I couldn’t let Cookie Week go by without a sandwich cookie. Please welcome these Caramel Linzer Cookie Wreaths for our Day 3 recipe.
Traditional Linzer cookies are Austrian butter cookies made with nut flour and filled with jam. I swapped the jam for thick, glossy caramel to sandwich together orange-scented almond cookies.
Orange and caramel make for a terrific combination, especially with the hints of almond and rosemary. Definitely a flavor pair I will try again!

I never miss an opportunity to add a little extra flair, and the shape of these Linzers just begged to be turned into wreaths. Dipping the top cookies into a simple glaze instantly elevates the recipe. Before the glaze dries, sprinkle on gold sanding sugar, sugar pearls, bits of candied orange peel, and a few sprigs of rosemary. Voila! Cookie wreaths!
