Hi Bakers!
Cookie Week 2024 is on its way!
From glazed and glittered to twice-baked, you are going to love this collection.
Cookie Week is my annual series of 5 new holiday cookie recipes. This will be Bake Club’s 4th year! I know I’m mostly known for my cakes around here, but Cookie Week is the most popular, anticipated series every year.Â
This is also the perfect time to upgrade to a paid subscription to access every recipe in the archive and get ready for next week. Bake Club is supported by readers and paid subscriptions keep the articles coming weekly and ad-free!
Let’s take a look at the most loved holiday cookies of the last few years:
Danish Brown Butter Cookies
These stand-out cookies were last year’s top pick. The classic shortbread-like cookies get a flavor boost from browned butter before being dipped in white chocolate. These buttery cookies are tender with a slightly sandy texture. They have a melt-in-your-mouth quality with lots of vanilla and nutty brown butter flavor.
Glazed Gingerbread Cut-Outs
These spiced cut-outs get a maple butter rum glaze and sparkly sprinkles. Instead of painstakingly piping out each cookie design, I highly recommend dipping the gingerbread in glaze. This time-saving hack is the only way to go during the holiday hustle.
Eggnog Sables
Buttery shortbread sables are my personal favorites from the cookie tin. Add eggnog frosting, and you won’t be able to stop eating these Eggnog Sables!
Treat these as leveled-up, homemade slice-and-bake cookies. Put back the Pilsbury, and stock your freezer with logs of dough to be baked at the ready.
Iced Raspberry Linzer Cookies
The iconic Linzer cookie has been a favorite since the cookie exchanges of my youth. You’ll instantly recognize them by the window of raspberry or apricot jam in the middle of a shortbread-like sandwich cookie.
Often dusted with confectioners’ sugar, I opted for a simple glaze for a modern, matte finish. The lemon glaze pops on the tongue while the almond provides a nutty flavor and tender texture.
Maple Toffee Walnut
Don’t sleep on this recipe from my first annual Cookie Week in 2021. Honestly, we should be making these all year round. They are super chewy with added crunch from the walnuts, loads of toffee flavor, and a maple glaze. Using maple syrup and brown sugar in the dough keeps them soft and chewy for days - if they even last that long.
Cookies at Christmas is a must🎄. Your recipes cover the best flavors of the season.
