I made this for Christmas, delicious and so, so good! I am in Europe and usually find American recipes way too sweet, but not this one.

I love vanilla sponge cake! Thank you, Tessa. I make Christmas Yule Log, but it is awesome and my mother how to learn me how to bake, I am 12 years, and my name is Dominique and I would be so proud!

How much flour are you suppose to use for the sponge cake? I measured out 3/4 cups + 3 tblsp of flour and it's about ~115 grams

I made this for Christmas, too. I forgot how quickly whipped ganache sets up (although you gave plenty of warning!) and my mushrooms were a little too big, but everyone loved it and thought it was beyond beautiful. My 91 year old mother in law said it was the best cake she had ever eaten 😊. And she is from a family of amazing southern bakers! Thank you.
